Pet therapy is a favourite program at Holmwood, and our residents were recently inundated with four-legged friends at our Paws party. Our residents planned for weeks to welcome a special morning tea with dog treats and human treats! The residents spent their time sewing up hand-made, recycled dog beds; to great appreciation.
We were lucky to have 6 dogs visit us for a morning. We had Ricky, Rocky, Kip, Miss Wolf, Layla and Abby. All the dogs were foster dogs that were in the care of the Inbetweeners Animal Rescue inc. who do amazing work with our four-legged friends, rehabilitating and re-homing some sweet souls. We don’t know who loved the cuddles more, the residents or the dogs!
Of course, there was more to the morning than just cuddles. We had a dog-themed morning with trivia on famous dogs, a dog breed picture game, and enjoyed hearing the stories from residents about their own dogs.
