Activities at Holmwood throughout April have been filled with celebration, laughter, music and meaningful moments shared together. From Easter festivities and gardening afternoons to birthdays, live entertainment and community connection, there’s been plenty happening around the home this month.

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to.

Easter Celebrations and Sweet Surprises

April began with Easter celebrations and a few unexpected visitors stopping by during Happy Hour. There were plenty of smiles as we enjoyed chocolate treats, Easter fun and time spent together throughout the home.

Moments like these bring a little extra joy to everyday life and create opportunities to connect, laugh and celebrate together as a community.

Celebrating Special Birthdays

We’ve also had the pleasure of celebrating several birthdays throughout the month.

A big happy birthday to Robin, Dell, Joan, Ellen and Merlin — each celebration bringing its own special moments, shared stories and plenty of birthday cheer.

Whether it’s gathering together for cake, sharing kind wishes or simply making someone feel extra special for the day, birthdays are always something we love celebrating at Holmwood.

Live Music, Dancing and Friday Fun

One of the highlights this month was our fabulous Friday afternoon filled with drinks, dancing, live music and relaxed vibes around the home.

There’s something about live music that brings people together so naturally. From tapping feet to singing along and sharing laughs, it created such a wonderful atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

Gardening and Green Thumbs

The ladies took over the shed this month, spending time planting seeds and seedlings while chatting all things gardening.

It was a relaxed and social afternoon, with plenty of laughs and conversations shared along the way. We’re looking forward to watching everything grow over the coming weeks.

Celebrating Our Team

This month we also recognised Sanvir as our April Employee of the Month.

Sanvir was nominated by peers, residents and families for his teamwork, dedication and strong work ethic. We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the care and positivity he brings to our home each day.

BBQ Lunches and Everyday Moments

One of our favourite moments this month was coming together for a resident and staff BBQ lunch.

What makes Holmwood special is the people who fill it each day — the conversations over a cup of tea, the shared laughs during activities and the little moments of kindness that create genuine connection.

These everyday moments are often the ones that mean the most, helping create an environment where everyone feels comfortable, supported and at home.

Rock and Roll Ready

We also spent part of April preparing for our upcoming Rock and Roll Night, with decorations, music and plenty of excitement building around the home.

The team got busy setting everything up while residents supervised the fun and helped bring the atmosphere to life. Safe to say there’s plenty of anticipation for a night of dancing, music and good times ahead.
