At Holmwood Aged Care, we love Christmas so much we celebrate it twice!
For a bit of mid-winter cheer, we have celebrated Christmas in July. Everyone had fun decorating the lounge areas with beautifully adorned trees and all the tables were bedecked with Christmas ornaments. Residents loved talking about Christmas and how they get to celebrate it twice. They have already begun to plan this year’s yuletide festivities, this time at the more traditional time of the year.
Our kitchen prepared a Four-Course Christmas Feast of Cream of chicken soup with crusty bread to start, followed by prawn cocktails. Mains were a delicious Roast Pork, Ham and Turkey with ALL the trimmings including potatoes, pumpkin, greens, cauliflower gratin and sauces.
To finish off this feast, residents could choose between a delicious Plum Pudding with homemade Brandy custard or Pavlova with berries and orange and of course double cream!
We are now looking forward to celebrating our traditional Christmas in December and all the fun and frivolities that follow.
